..but upon seeing Glorietta 2 earlier, I started ranting to my mom and my tita (happy birthday by the way, and thanks for the fantastic lunch!) about how "commercialized" the security we have right now. If it weren't for the Glorietta 2 explosion, security levels in the metro wouldn't be as tight. Vicious cycle, I dare say. After an incident like such, the government "ups" the security in all areas; then after a month or so, security dies down, or at least decreases. No more over-active "kapkapan" (inspection) from the security guards, no more big (sometimes scary) sniffing canines, and no more "anything you say or do will be used against you" attitude from the security personnels. It all goes back to our plain guards greeting us with the sometimes annoying "Good morning Ma'am/Sir, welcome to (insert name of establishment here)". Why can't security be consistent? Why can't the president, and whoever "concerned" give out orders for maximum security? (Insert sigh here) Do we, or do you have to wait for explosions and bomb threats before you improve the security for masses? (insert sigh here, again)
One more thing, I am so not buying the crap that the main cause of the massive explosion came from an liquefied petroleum gas tank. Sure, that can be possible if, and only if that the whole area was "planted" with combustible gases. Let's say that was the case, but wouldn't people be suffocated upon being exposed to methane and other combustible gases? I wish that further, and more intensive investigations be made regarding the Glorietta "bombing".
Something inside me wants to believe that the incident was indeed a planned bombing, only the Administration do not want the people to react on it (about how the Administration still couldn't fight terrorism) so they "made up a story". Anyways, forgive me for what I wrote. I am just too pissed off with what had transpired.
